Vietnam Steel Mill — Y83-250 Metal Baler Implementation

Project Overview

Client: A medium-sized steel processing mill in central coastal Vietnam (hereafter “the client”)
Machine: Y83-250 Metal Baler (manual operation, dual 30 kW motors)
Hopper Size: 2000 × 1400 × 900 mm
Bale Size: 500 × 500 mm (adjustable)
Application: Compressing scrap and offcuts for efficient transport and recycling

Background & Challenges

Located near the coastal zone, the client faced large on-site scrap stockpiles, high secondary handling costs and material degradation due to humidity and salt air. Limited local transport and port slots required the plant to reduce scrap volume before shipment. The local power grid occasionally experiences voltage fluctuations, so the solution needed reliable starting characteristics and electrical protection.

Solution & Implementation

We supplied the Y83-250 metal baler with the following configuration:

  • Dual 30 kW motors for stable and redundant power output.

  • Hopper: 2000×1400×900 mm to accommodate large batches.

  • Bale: 500×500 mm standard specification for easy handling and furnace acceptance.

  • Operation: Manual (simple operator training and quick adoption).

  • Add-ons: Anti-corrosion electrical cabinet treatment and improved electrical protection suited for coastal conditions.

During installation, our engineers coordinated with on-site staff to complete foundation anchors, positioning, and commissioning. We provided two days of hands-on operation and maintenance training, plus bilingual (EN/VI) operation manuals and a recommended spare-parts list.

Local Adaptation & Considerations

  • Environment: For coastal salt exposure, apply anti-corrosive coatings to electrical cabinets and specify corrosion-resistant seals for hydraulic components.

  • Power: Recommend a voltage stabilizer or standby generator to prevent downtime from brief outages.

  • Logistics: Standardizing bale size to 500×500 mm improved loading efficiency and matched local trailer/container load plans.

Results & Client Feedback

  • Productivity: Scrap processing efficiency improved by approximately 50% compared to manual handling (measured in labor hours saved).

  • Cost Savings: Fewer load-outs and reduced transport volume lowered per-ton shipping costs (exact savings vary by route and tariff; client reported significant reductions).

  • Value Recovery: Standardized bales reduced sorting time and helped obtain better acceptance/pricing from recyclers.

  • Reliability: Dual-motor setup and enhanced electrical protection delivered steady operation under local grid conditions with low downtime.

Client quote:

“The machine was delivered and commissioned promptly; the training and spare parts list were practical. Their tailored anti-corrosion measures make operation much more reassuring.” — Production Deputy Manager

Maintenance & After-Sales

We provided a one-year warranty, lifetime technical support, and a core spare-parts list (hydraulic seals, blades, filters, electrical components). Recommended preventive checks include quarterly electrical and hydraulic inspections and anti-corrosion maintenance.

Conclusion & Advice for Prospective Customers

For deployments in Vietnam or similar coastal areas, pay attention to hopper size and bale dimensions to match transport, electrical protection and stabilizing equipment, and corrosion-resistant hydraulic/electrical components. We can tailor bale size, machine configuration and local protection measures based on your site’s output and transport conditions.último caso de la compañía sobre Vietnam Steel Mill — Y83-250 Metal Baler Implementation 0
